I had one as a loaner. Msport with nav. Thought it was great. Don't listen to the dorks saying it is under powered. I think it's a good value equipped correctly.

320s don't come with quad angel halo headlights?
Excuse my ignorance as I'm new to the BMW family. |

The 20i is def not underpowered. remember there are 11 engines to choose from in the f30 lineup, and the 20i is not the lowest one
Based on the low car prices you americans have, most people will just spend a tiny amount more money to get a bigger engine therefore not even taking the 20i in the considereation. But enought of that. beiing a midrange tuned 2.0t engine it is always smooth does never feel asthmatic or stressed as the high output 28i version felt for me. I would pick the 25d or the 30d unit before the 28i. just my opinion. Btw, mine sits in a GT Msport |

The 320i is a great car and great value. I've very seriously considered one as I can get everything that I truly enjoy about these cars without having to pay for anything that I don't. 300hp is nice, but where can I actually use or enjoy that? Uhh, where I live just about nowhere! But I can enjoy great handling and great braking every single day, and you can get all of that on the 320i. Can get one equipped the way I'd want it for $39K MSRP, or probably 35 or below after negotiating and incentives. That's pretty darned cool. BMS Stage 1 for a little more power. Extremely tempting purist BMW type car.

I was walking to my car in the parking lot yesterday as a 328 pulled in, and boy does the engine ever sound terrible from the outside. Very chattery and diesel like.
That being said, I have driven the N20 motor in an X3 before, and it was spectacular. I honestly feel that the N20 provides more performance than I would ever use, but I wanted to at least own 1 BMW with the famed inline 6 before it goes out of existence (or reaches a point where I can't afford it). |

if our gas was as expensive as in Europe, i think our opinions might differ.
most Euros i know do not have the big monster engines, even though they get them offered: ie RS6 Avant! or heck at least the RS4 Avant, or M3 wagon

I thought the 320d and 220i I drove were adequately powered, both of which could crack 0-60 within 7 seconds. That's not exactly hanging about. But I'm spoilt with my 335i.

I agree with the above post, if the gas prices were like Europes, then maybe I would have concidered the 320, or the 328, but since it's not, I'd rather listen to the sound of the magical in line six....
Also the term adequately powered is relative. It maybe adequate to some but certainly not to me... |

Nobody in his right mind will compromise factory warranty. And it can happen, don't doubt it.
