Anyone NOT like the new M3/4 more than e9x?
Now that these cars have been out for a while, I'm curious if anyone has made the switch from the e9x M to the new f8x M and is less satisfied in some way.
So far, all I've heard are really great things, which is to be expected. Anyone else "miss" something from the old model that has them second guessing their decision? Appreciate the honest feedback as someone who is considering the switch as well. |

I had a 2011 E92 ZCP and this car is better in every way except the sound... and maybe the hood line
Hopefully long term this car is problem free like my last one. |

I had e92 and e90. Overall fx series is leaps and bounds better. E92 is a classic to my eyes. BUT the fx series is more enjoyable daily due to the torque, brakes and technology inside( .i.e HUD side and top cameras) Seats are phenomenal!! I actually had to put speed warning alert on. I am constantly above 80. In the e series I always knew where I was based on high revving nature of the engine. Nothing is perfect but this series is a leap forward for M.

I think it will end on a whimper. No one cares anymore to argue, just look at the other related thread, dead. Everyone enjoy their cars!!

I don't have mine yet, but i see both a lot this week in San Francisco... I think e92 looks more muscular because of the bigger bulge on the hood... But f82 is prettier. Maybe down the line there'll be better good upgrade. That's just my 2 cents.

My E90 M3 had no weaknesses. My F80 have two major weaknesses in the absolute lack of steering feedback and the relative lack of seat comfort. However the F80 is an upgrade in almost every other aspect especially the suspension ( passive ) is just phenomenal and the engine is A LOT more powerful. I honestly can't pick a favorite at this time but I suspect it could be the F80 when I've had time to fully adjust to it. But maybe it's just a bit of honeymoon and sub conscious new purchase validation. We'll see.

The only thing I miss from my E92 is engine sound, and I'm sure it has been covered million times from other reviews. Otherwise, I'm happy with this new car.

I drove E92 M3 for 6.5 years and just received my M4 to replace it this week.
I shits on the E92 in every way, and I actually prefer the sound. No regrets in any way. |

I had a '11 ZCP E92. F82 will be here in a couple weeks. I too have been wondering how this car will stack up. When I jumped from the E92 to the M3, I was pleasantly surprised. Since the M3, I have owned a F30 335ix. I wonder if the jump will be as significant (aside of power).
Everybody's expectations are different. I just hope I won't be disappointed. |

Where are you seeing these cars? I live in Daly City, and I commute to Palo Alto, and aside from the inside of a dealer, I've not seen a single F8X anywhere. It's making me very happy I picked it. It seems like all everyone has now is an S4.

I currently own both. I concur with the general sentiment here. I do think that the F82 us better than the E92 in every functional way. Aesthetically, I actually liked a few things about the E92 better - the hood line, the general silhouette, the shoulders... Basically, I like the taillights and headlights better on the E92. That's about it (besides the ZCP wheels).

The E92 had a bigger powerdome in the hood. My F82 has a little bulge envy...

I do but the S55 has other virtues as much bigger power and the throttle response is very, very good for a turbo charged car and not a total let down vs a good N/A engine. The engine is a give and take here.

I appreciate this thread and open/honest answers.
When I moved from e60 to f10 M5, I missed a LOT of things. Glad to hear the general consensus thus far is very positive. |

I'm in break-in and I was hitting speeds I know I should not be traveling....and that was just from flooring it in 6th gear. This car loafs at 100mph. Absolutely loafs. Beg for more in fact. I haven't set a speed alert but I might need to.
