I have my car in for service. I have coded the ass to be off when starting the car as it's real annoying, rough and activates when not supposed to (like when I'm doing low speed maneuvers such as parking the car in my garage).
So question is should I let them take a look at it, the most likely answer being a software update. I would assume then I will lose all my coding. So for something I'm unlikely to use should I even bother? Is there anything else in the software update which will be of benefit besides the ass? |

Depends on your I-Step...
When my car was coded to remember ASS setting, I also got heavier steering (not necessarily more responsive, but still nicer) and ASS disabled in Sport/Sport+ by default. All welcome changes. Why not get the latest software available. How much of a pain is to recode all your settings? |

I had my software updated recently (first time since I got the car in Feb 2012), and did not notice any changes or improvements. I've read others on the forum mention there was a steering adjustment - but I haven't noticed a difference and cannot verify there is actually an adjustment.
I wouldn't have gotten the update at all, except that my service indicator wasn't tracking properly. I also don't have any coding, so that wasn't a concern for me. If it were me (I also don't use ASS at all) I wouldn't bother if you have coding you want to keep and not have to redo. |
