That was a close one!

So yesterday I was at Target and bought a coke and left if in my trunk and I opened my trunk right now to find the bottle exploded from the heat and most of it landed in the side thing where the tools are kept....right above the battery. How disastrous would it have been if it leaked and touched the battery? Man this was a close one! I realize I'm an idiot for leaving a bottle of soda in the trunk in this valley heat lol lesson learned.

Really only would have been bad if it grounded the terminals.

People used to (and probably still do) clean corroded battery terminals with coke.

Primarily because it helps in achieving a 50/50 weight balance; and keeps it out of the hot engine compartment, which helps in battery life longevity.

It's the Central Cal heat.. Too hot to leave anything in the car. Had a can in the car a couple of months ago and somehow the can cut open and it got all over my dash and inner windshield, that was a pain to clean -_-

The only thing that ever exploded in my car happened after a Taco Bell dinner... Thank God for leather seats!

Makes perfect sense to me why the battery is back there.
The real question when it comes to the trunk area is why is the amp at the lowest point in trunk?
