M sport suspension - heavy passenger
Hello all,
I noticed my f32 with m suspension sit lower than the e92 I had. I have a friend that is big, 270 lbs. will the suspension be able to handle it? Front bumper scrape since I lived on a steep hill?

I think a bigger problem would be your friend getting comfy on the front bucket seats with aggressive side bolsters. My boss is a big guy and could not really put his back on the seat because of the side bolsters sticking out.

Anyway for the OP - I've had 3 fairly light passengers in the car, maybe a total weight of 360 plus my 165. The car definitely felt heavy and the suspension was noticeably different. You should be fine on steep hills and such though. I'm sure these cars were designed to carry more weight than we're talking about here. Germans and their bratwurst you know |

Of course, it could be a benefit to have him/her sit in the back to equal out weight distribution cause the 335i/435i is already front heavy. As for comfort it depends on how the person is built and where the weight/size is in terms of how they fit in the seat. If they are short, under 5' 10", then they are likely wider than someone like me. One of my male buddies is 6' 3" and is really over weight around 370lbs. He too loves the sport seats. I've posts from more average weight and tall drivers who feel they slide around a bit in the sport seats. For them the side bolsters will help. BMW sport seats are pretty generous over all. Bavarians love their sausage and beer and are not exactly that slim. And don't let the British fool you either. They like to harp on Americans being fat, but take a look at weight statistics over there. They should stop pointing fingers. I'm 6' 1" and weight 290lbs, and I LOVE BMW sport seats. I fit just fine as they are very comfy and supportive. Actually, I lost about 70lbs since last Oct. and the seats felt great before the weight loss too. I have to run the side bolsters with 0 pressure. They are bladder type bolster so they puff up slightly around a person, they don't move like a clam shell. I also LOVE the thigh extension/support, awesome feature. For my height my legs are not long. Inseam is 31", so I have a taller torso in relation to my leg length. With my seat setting there is plenty of leg room for a rear passenger to around 6' average inseams. Over that they can still fit but leg room is shorter. F30/F32 has more internal passenger room than the previous gen 3. |

How fat are the girls in the back seat? That's what I call "corner weighting"
