Is the f80 toms the same as those on f30/32? Or they r specifically for M? If so, where can i get one? I havent checked dealers yet, but they probably cost arm and egg

Thanks

They are different - these ones read out tire temp as well as PSI.

Weird

My dealer just told me I don't need to buy the tpms, because the tpms r located around the caliper brake, and not inside the tire. So basically, I can just switch up the wheels.

I'm having hard time to decide my wheels with all these fitment issues. I wish it were back in the e92 days I can just buy n put them on......

I can deal with an arm and an egg.

Arm and a leg, on the other hand? Not doable.

never heard of anything like that. there still would have to be something inside the actual rim putting a signal out to the receiver, hence the internal tire temperature reading being displayed.

Wouldn't be the first case of a dealer being wrong.

Dealer is describing RDC, where the readings taken from wheel speed sensor. US uses TPMS, which is a transmitter/receiver-based system.

thank you! Very informative. So, it is actually correct that my car could be using the RDC only? I am not in the USA, so hence I don't have the transmitter receiver based system?

Thanks

Correct, if you're in Taiwan, you should have a RDC based system.

Can you see tire temps in iDrive going to SETTINGS>>VEHICLE INFO? Shouldn't be able to, but we don't see these systems stateside unless we're converting to them, typically for track use only (race wheels).

Thank you! I love the vendors here! Very knowldgeable!

I get my car in October. But I'm slowly stacking up the mods I need so that the car can be ready in the first week I get it! Hehe

At least I don't have to worry about TPMS now. Now I need some spacers. I check the other was thread on spacers

Thnx again.

I have a none US car (Australia). Here the wheel speed sensor system is standard, the temperature/pressure system is an option. If you have the option when you go to the vehicle information settings and look at this it shows you a temperature and pressure next to each tire on the diagram. If you don't have it, and just have the wheel speed system then the tires on the car diagram show green for active, but no pressure is shown

What's the difference with your VDO stems and BMW 36106856209?

Difference in stems

There is no difference outside of the part number on the sensor. VDO is the manufacture of these sensors for BMW.

The valve stem is the same on the VDO as well. excuse the picture showing the barrel off of the stem.
