Was parking on a narrow street and tried to put on Roadside Parking Lamps after shutting off engine and it kept giving turning signal instead !! I remember I've done it many times before and do not know what might be wrong now.

More details, BMW 320i , Luxury , Xenon , and DRL is on.

The Manual says....
Switching on
With the ignition switched off, press the Lever either up or down past the resistance point for approx. 2 seconds.

No no, I think you had shut off the engine by hitting the button only once. You must hit the 'Engine Start Stop' button twice. First time shuts off the engine, leaving accessories on. Second time shuts off radio and accessories.

If you do it twice, then hold down the turn signal in the designated roadside parking lamp side for three seconds, it will chime saying "Parking Lamps are on!" on the instrument cluster. Then it will be active. (Refer to the manual for specific instructions if mine were not clear enough.)

On this subject is there any way to have the LED down light in the handle come on? I park on a dark narrow street and want to get close to the curb and want to use this light to illuminate the curb when i'm back up to park. This light comes on when it is dark and you unlock the car.

PS it's a 2014 428XI

Technically, least on the F30s, those door handle/puddle lamp LEDs turn on when you back up as well.

If not, forgot which code you have to enable.
