Compliments on your F30
I've already gotten a lot in my few weeks of ownership. Some have been real nice, and some have been off the wall!
I'll take em either way but to add some positivity to the forum, post up the best, worst, most back-handed, etc. compliments/comments you've received on your cars! Some of the funniest I've gotten: "Sick ride man - that an M6?" "WHOA, your wife let you get an M3?" "Can you run NOS?" (Walmart parking lot - go figure) Some backhanded ones: "I didn't know Beemers were fast" "I'd buy one if I were a realtor or something, but I'll stick to my Camaro"

nice... havent gotten any comments on the 3 yet but have had plenty on my Z. i thnk the best one for the 3 thus far was it was a pretty car. (from another BMW owner we know) They were impressed that we have the reverse camera built in.
I just find it hard to get too excited over the little dturbo 4. it is nice for the highway but definately not a track car.

I've gotten three compliments over the past few days. One guy said he thought the 328d was "just released last week" (wrong, it was a year ago), and the others noticed the "d" on the rear and complimented the color (MR) and the wheels (VMR 721 gunmetal). I'm happy to spread the word that BMW makes a diesel sedan. Nobody seems to be aware of it.

If anyone buys a 328i expecting it to be a track car...they're crazy. e46 m3, 350z, etc. are much better as a dedicated track day car.

I get a lot of compliments on my 435GC Msport, ... but even more questions because I debadged.
- is that the new 5 series? - is this that new 4 door 6 series? - I thought 4 series only had two doors, wtf? - is it an M car? - what color is that ... blue or black? |

- is this m3?
- is this full m-package? - it is only 3L engine? - can you turn on drift function? The most popular question is about volume of engine, but nobody ask if it atmo or turbo, and how much did you pay for car. |

Nothing verbal. But where I park at work, there is a remote area where it seems all German cars park, mostly BMWs. I overlook this from my office window. The first day I parked my 335 MSport there, I was looking out the window and the guy that drives a sweet Z3 parked, got out of his car, looked at mine and kept walking. Then he actually stopped 20 feet past, walked back and really checked it out with a walk around like he was at the dealer. About the closest I've come to a compliment other than people checking it out on the road.

There's countless BMW's around here so they don't really stand out. The only people who really look at it are other 3 Series owners. I once got a thumbs up by a girl who was driving the exact same car as I, I acknowledged her good taste by returning the thumbs up.
That said, I still get some comments: Once, I was in a local dive shop buying some supplies and a guy in military uniform walks in and asked if that was my 3 Series out there and gave it compliments and asked many questions since he was in the market to buy a used 335i and wanted my opinion on it. Another time I stopped at a local small restaurant for lunch and an older guy simply commented how he thought it was cool that my mirrors folded at the push of a button. I tend to fold my mirrors in tight parking lots so people can easily walk in between cars. That's about it really. Don't really care, I didn't buy the car for attention, I bought it for my own enjoyment. |

Usually people say "Nice car!" but sometimes I get "evny comments" and some silly comments too :
"Bimmers have become so common now". "This is smaller than an Accord, you 'd have got an Accord if you'd done more research" "It doesnt have spoiler, is it safe?" |

I got a compliment from a 528i owner. My favorite is from the toothless homeless woman who begs for money at the intersection who told me she loved the car. I thanked her after a bit of small talk.

I've received quite a few as well, partially due to it being debadged and the blue M sport brakes.
Had a guy in a porsche 911 stop and compliment me, as well as others asking me to smoke my tires and if it was an m3 lol

I get quite a few looks/compliments, even the service guys at the dealership were asking me questions about some of the M-Performance stuff.
The things most people comment on tend to be the wheels, brakes, and spoiler. You see a lot of F30s around town but not many 335s or M-Sport cars and the day I brought my car home a few guys at work said it looked a lot different then they imagined it would, more aggressive.
