BMW Sponge

Hi all,

Bought this sponge from BMW at the same time as some touch up paint.

Described as a vinyl and plastic sponge. But not sure what exactly the yellow part is for, well apart from scratching everything it touches!!

I think it's supposed to be a fly remover, probably designed before they used watercolour paint on their cars.

Nearly!
I think it's for removing flies/bugs from your windscreen. I had one free when I bought a few bmw bits from eBay a few years ago although mine is a solid yellow sponge. Not really used it.

I doubt it would scratch the windscreen. Think about when you use an ice scraper in the winter.
