Comfort access - does your trunk fully open?
I find the foot under the car works fine, problem is the trunk only unlocks and doesn't spring up.
I read someone say it starts popping up after you have opened/closed several times. Anybody else have this problem? Should I wait or do I have to waste my time bringing the car in? Unlocking only defeats the process with full hands. Thanks |

Just had the spoiler installed a week ago, and it still pops right up.

I have a spoiler and it doesn't pop up anymore. I also modified my trunk to have rear emergency lighting where the warning triangle should go, so now the added weight does not allow it to go up.

Thanks for the answers, I'll try it tonight.
In the other direction the E92 was much easier to close using the inside handle of the trunk. Now it really needs to be slammed, but that seems like a design flaw rather than a defect that can be repaired. |

Mine doesn't need to be slammed...it shuts normally. I'd have the dealership service dept. look at it.

Initially mine needed to be slammed as well. I had them look at trim rubbing the trunk hinge and they must have adjusted the latch, because when I picked the car up it was much easier to close the trunk like you describe, with a swift toss from the inside grab spot. It can be made to close easier, just ask.

2013 335i Msport. Foot open operation works just fine, but the trunk lid does not spring fully open. It makes for a non functioning foot open feature because now I have to put down what I'm carrying in order to open the trunk fully.
If I'm going to do that, then I don't need the foot open function. Yes, I'm sure there is an adjustment and on my next visit it'll be on my list. |

My issue was that when using my foot or the key, the trunk was only unlocking and lifting by 2 centimeters and that is it; never fully opened. Here is some more detailed steps for others: 1) Open the right part of the trunk (on EU versions) behind the right rear light and right above the battery. 2) Take a look inside this compartment on the top and locate the trunk spring 3) Look at the end of the spring and you will see two notches. The spring in my case was tied into the 1st notch, the one closest to the spring. (on the picture it is in the 2nd notch, because I took picture after moving it) 4) Catch the biggest and middle part of the spring with your hand (if you try just the end of it, it would be much more difficult) and pull strongly the spring into the 2nd notch. And you're done! The spring will put more pressure on the trunk and it will open more easily. Now I can finally use my foot or the key button to open it. |
