Running without a front plate?

I recently moved to Bay Area, usually in the Peninsula and South Bay areas, wondering what everyone's experiences have been running without a front plate around here?

me too, well two years ago, and most of the people here in the south bay that I know and that care don't run front plates. One guy I know has been doing this for decades with all of his cars and never a problem.

It seems like only 50% of the cars (that look like their owners care) have front plates.

Used to run (in the late 90's) with no front plate on my 300ZXTT, and managed to get two front plate tickets within two weeks, after no issues for 2 years. I gave in and mounted a front plate.

This was in the San Diego area, but CA cops are mostly the same.

if you need to have the front plate, get the tow bracket and dont drill holes in your bumper.

Doesn't hurt to be prepared if you do get pulled over. Order one of these and keep it in the trunk. Tell the cop you forgot to put it back on after washing the car.

9 months and one ticket from a meter maid - $114 or fix-it for $10. I just paid the $114 and hopefully won't get another one for a long time.

I think I'm going to go with this strategy, worse case it'll be easy to do a fixit ticket I guess

I wonder, if somebody in California explored the legal venue the front one is not an actual license plate, because it does not have any stickers, just a piece of metal...
