Haven't bought anything new for my car in over two months, due to priorities coming first. However I'd be lying if I said I wasn't dying to pick up my next upgrade. Been fantasizing about wheels, Coilovers, and down pipes for the last month. Any one else find themselves in a similar situation?

Edit: the title should be Fiending, not friending. Stupid auto correct.

Definitely hear where your coming from. Haven't bought any toys for my car since I got it a couple of months ago, have just been enjoying it so far. But now my mouth literally waters looking at the first parts I want. (mtech wheel w/lci paddles and mtech front and rear bumpers). unfortunately I go on vacation in a few weeks, then my girls b-day, and when I get back my beater needs a few things so it's looking like at least a month or two. Man, what to do to to pass the time.

I'm fiending for some more mods as well! I installed a JB4 and DCI a little over a month ago, but I'm holding out on other mods so I can try to space them out. I was testing my patience, but I think my greed for more power is starting to win the battle.

Still deciding between DP's or FMIC as my next mod. In the meantime I'll probably do black window trim, gloss black grills, angel eyes, and some window tint.

This is why I'm glad I decided not to opt for the '335. Couldn't imagine.

I tried the same exact approach, jb4+ dci, then it was the PE exhaust mod, now it's dp's or just a splurge on coilovers, can't decide. Try a little e85 to quench your thirst for power, it's a good little fix for some fiendin' lol

I filled up with e85 last week, but put in too much 93 octane first so I only ended up with ~20-25% e85. I'm getting low on gas now so I think I'll try 35% e85 this time and see how that works out.
I've never run e85 before so I'm trying to slowly up the amount each time I fill up. For now I won't go above 40% until I can figure out my rough idle issues and get the Walbro 255 inline pump.

I need a clutch to put down all the torque.

Just dropped $550 on brakes, but hyper for a new clutch but not looking forward to install but I've done everything myself, why stop there. Fact is I have trust issues when it comes to other people working on my cars lol.

What I usually do Is put the e85 first, I put 6 gallons then fill the rest with 91, haven't had any issues whatsoever. Although I will say that if your plugs or coils are older or worn, the up-age in boost will reveal the faulty component with a misfire. Other than that, on a chilly day or cold night the car has no problem peaking and holding 17 psi at WOT. Love it! As for the walbro 255, I've heard it's not necessary unless your running 10+ gallons of e85.

Already had the misfire issues which were fixed with new spark plugs. Immediately after changing the plugs it developed a rough idle. Runs like a beast once I hit the gas - just the idle is crap.

Walbro isn't necessary for a 60/40 mix? I think that would be around 9 gallons E85 and 7 gallons 93 oct - would that be pushing the stock LPFP?

Hmm, did you change your ignition coils aswell? And yea I think if you were going to run 60/40 all the time or even 50/50 all the time the 255 would be a good investment along with an e85 flash. But if say you put a little too much e85 by mistake one day I'm sure your lpfp would be okay. 255 would be more suited for regular heavy use.

Ok thanks. No I didn't change the coils yet, but I know they're due up soon. I'm at 78k miles and I believe they're supposed to be changed at 80k.
My only other thought was a leaky injector, but then I don't know why the rough idle would have only developed after changing plugs.

The rough idle is the only thing holding me back from more mods! Well and the fact I have 4k miles left until the extended waste-gate warranty runs out so I need to uninstall my mods soon and try to get that covered by BMW.

I've got parts sitting in the garage (FMIC, charge pipe with TiAL BOV), but am hesitant about installing due to warranty issues. Once my warranty has exipred I'll go hog wild.

Yea ignition coils would be my first suspect here, perhaps the new plugs are revealing an issue with a weak/dying ignition coil.

Hmm interesting - maybe I will go straight for 40/60 on my next fill up. I actually did think it got slightly better with my 20-25% since my last fill up.
I've searched around for answers and it seems like others have had the same issue arise after changing the plugs with no resolution. They all even changed injectors, coils, HPFP, sensors, etc.
I don't want to throw that kind of money towards those parts if its not even going to fix my rough idle. Right now its annoying as hell at red lights, but if the 40% makes it live-with-able then I won't even bother trying to figure out the issue.

Anyways back on topic. To fulfill my fiending for mods should I get an FMIC or DP's next?
I'll be taking the car up to Colorado, so I'm thinking the FMIC might be best since the turbo's will run higher boost up there to compensate for the less dense air. At the same time I'm sure i'll see more impressive gains from the DP's rather than the FMIC. Either way the next mod will probably be coming a few months after, so both the DP's and FMIC will be going on soon enough.

What do you guys think. DP's or FMIC next?

I'm in the same situation. Bought my car 2 months ago and told myself no more than 1k in mods per month.

1st Month: ~$1000
Cobb AP3
Alpina B3
12/15mm spacers
BMS Performance Intake
Painted side markers

2nd Month: ~$3500
BC BR Racing coilovers
VMR v810s
Pilot Super Sports

Haven't received/installed the 2nd month mods yet but I know even after I get them on there is no way I am going to be able to wait a couple months before modding more. So much for $1k a month...
