Where's the duck?

I noticed that my F design Xdrive, no longer has the hill descent control. My 335ix of 2009 had the feature which was very useful on steep unplowed roads in the mountains. I guess cost cutting strikes.

I agree, it was very useful for some of us and "the Duck" should be on all BMW x-drive models. It's a shame they took it off the 3 series

That's not a Knife, that's a "Duck!"

Seriously, they took that out? I know the 4 Series has a Automatic Hill Hold Feature, that holds the position on an incline with your foot off the brake for a few seconds.

Wonder why they would take even the "option" for the X's away?

Oh crap. I didn't even notice this. Oh well. Guess I'll be using my own foot.

^ in PA what did you use it for? Snow?

I'd guess that BMW did at least a little research and found that very few consumers use the feature to justify its inclusion on the F3x.

I don't think it's the same thing. I definitely have the Automatic Hill Hold feature on my 335i xDrive, I know a specific hill it will apply on.

I think the OP is talking about the Hill Descent Control, different than the Hill Hold feature. This is when you are rolling down a hill, and the car trys to accelerate because... well gravity..., it will apply the brakes or engine brake to maintain your speed without acceleration. Am I correct?

My F30 does not do this. I almost forgot about this feature in my previous cars.

Yeah I know, it's not the same just thought maybe they may have integrated the Hill Descent Control into the system in a similar fashion.

Snow. I would own an M, but I use my car as a daily. I work in remote locations so I need the AWD. I drive on roads that sometimes don't get plowed.

I had this feature on my E92 and never used it. Didn't even notice it was missing on F30.
