Is the BMW 4 Series Only for Younger Drivers?

Just Curious what age group buys the 4 Series?

I am over 40, and have my GC on order, but wondering if I will look too old driving it? LOL

Ha ha, it's funny because I feel the exact opposite. I'm 29 and just got my first Bimmer, but where I live I'm by far one of the youngest ppl with one. I'm curious to see what others experience.

Chicago suburbs. I'm 37 and it feels about right in my opinion. No way I could go to a 5 series yet. The GC is a good option too, just wasn't available when I ordered mine.

I am 38 but honestly it dont think most ppl care about that. I had the E92 at 33 y old and nobody really watched me or anything... I would drive a 5 series and it would be the same i think.

Now If i was driving a 911 or an M6 well everybody would be staring for sure...

This topic comes up quite a bit. I'm always amused by the responses because I don't see why age has anything to do with what car you should buy. Just get what you want.

That being said, I'm sure you will see mostly middle aged to older buyers because BMW's and brands like it are obviously generally more expensive than others. The idea being that these people are generally financially more stable, thus being able to afford them.

I bought my E92 when I was 46 or 47. After a couple of years, I felt a little too old for it and traded it in for a MB C Class. The C Class made me feel like I was 70. I'm now in an F30 and I think we're a perfect fit. But, like DrivenByE30 says, age does not matter. Enjoy it!

The 4-series seems like it's targeted more towards the 35+ crowd. It's big, soft, luxurious, and expensive. When I was in my 20's I found smaller, lighter, cheaper, and sportier much more attractive.

Can't believe someone over 40 would be asking such a question. How about just growing up buy what you like regardless of what anyone thinks.

Was 72 last Dec.

I hope not

I hope not. 41 and when my "grown-up" lease on my 528 is up in a couple months I'm planning on moving to a 435, and seriously considering Estoril Blue. If that screams "mid life crisis", I could care less.

I'm also thinking about a more mature color in Mineral Grey.

I am 22 and I do not think the 4 series is targeted towards the younger crowd, it is after all considerably more expensive to load up than a 3 series of similar caliber. I have a f30 and did not even considered the 4 series when I went shopping, its just not practical enough for me.

I see the 4 series as being more the weekend car for someone in their 40's who wants to be in a vehicle that has the looks, but can still use it for practical means.

Just my 2c.

Yes. It's the entry-level BMW coupe. I don't even consider the 1 or 2-Series since they are just down-market models BMW needed to make to stay competitive. If you think the 4-Series is NOT intended for a younger buyer, then who the hell is the 6-Series intended for? Senior citizens?

25 to 35 is the age group I see most other 4-Series drivers in the Bay Area. I frankly would not be driving one if I was over 35.

49 years old, but I only look 55 years old. Mine will be at port in 5 days. I do not care what people think, about anything I do.

Who cares as long as you like the car. I will be picking up my f30 sometime this week. Can't wait to see how it looks with the car seats in the back.

It really shouldn't matter how old you are, if you like it you like it. The 4 series GC is sportier than the 3 for sure (which would satisfy younger folk) but still has that practicality for the mature person. I'm 38 years old, my m sport 328i is coming in 2 weeks. Some people say the m sport line is too young for me.
