Paid BMW survey?

Has anybody received a call or have you participated in any of these "Paid BMW Survey"? I just received a call telling me I've been selected by BMW of North America for this - if I wish to participate, then they will give $125 for my time.

Let me know if you have ever done this or heard of this - want to see if it's legit.

Thx

They just need your bank account number and #ss number. And don't worry, even though BMWNA is deployed over seas right now, they are willing to paypal you the full amount plus any fees to reimburse any inconveniences to you.

Yeah, that probably is right... but if they want my bank info, they won't get much after BMWNA finished bending me over and ripping my wallet out of my A$$.

Anyway, Thanks for the post - I'll probably just ignore it... I'm sure there is a catch somewhere... they buy a list from BMW, they pay me 125, then I get calls from everybody who buys their list... its a never ending marketing ploy...

It's legit. It's a Nigerian prince conducting the survey and paying the $125 to each participant,

Just make sure to get a pre-paid VISA card and send them the number in order to pay the processing fees to receive your $125

I haven't gotten that call, but I did a survey in the mail with some cash. I think it was a $5 or $10 bill. It was from a 3rd party company but conducted for BMW. I did it online, turned out to be a ridiculously long survey and I was starting to regret doing it by the time I finished.

I have done it

They typically do market research. Have you look at other cars in the segment give your thoughts inside and out. in the past they have paid cash. Typically have all badged covered up and may have a potentially new car. Kind of like a focus group do it. It's fun.

So I called back to see what it's about. The lady was nice and said BMW wanted to do a survey for the HUD, the NAV, the phone experience, Bluetooth streaming, dealer experience, etc. she said the survey would pay up to 125 if I qualified for each area. When I asked what I needed to do to qualify, she said that I had to of used and enjoyed my experiences. Hmmm sounds like BMW wants positive reviews and is willing to pay?? When asked how long it takes she said up to 3 hours if I go through all the subjects... To get the 125 you have to take everything...

Neither. Some marketing company that said they were doing the call on behalf of BMW USA.

BMWNA has called me and left 3 messages from Customer Service - but that is because I asked for an executive to get in the car with me and let's test out this collision warning system... I basically told them it provided a false sense of assurance that could cause more wrecks (especially for people like me who want to see the feature actually work consistently like it should).

Oh yeah, well after calling and finding out it would be 3 hours and all that crap - I decided not to bother with them... but looking at my finance agreement from BMW Finance - it clearly states that they will provide my info to 3rd party for marketing purposes... so I'm sure that is part of why they contacted me... but I just haven't had anybody calling offering me $125 for a survey from BMW - I posted here because since there are so many BMW owners - I wanted to see if this was common or targeted marketing...

Haaa yeah I need that to help upgrade my audio system to hifi! Lol. No I don't need the money, but most surveys don't throw that type of incentive around...

Yeah, the reason to do it isn't for the money, but because they're usually kinda fun and you get to be some small, itty bitty, tiny part of what BMW does in the future.

I've done these for various car brands. Pay for 2-3 hours ranges from 200-400 though, not 125.

its called a focus group....i do them all the time. not a bad way to spend 2 hours and make some money talking about cars.

although most of the time you're sitting in a room with soccer moms who dont know a thing about cars and are worried about cup holders and vanity mirrors
