just switched from 13 550i to 14 435i
so after about a year in the 550i (i'm lucky if i make it to one year) i just picked up a 14 435i. While the 550i was a great car, it was a luxury yacht. i wanted something more nimble, and most importantly a manual transmission. after a long exhaustive searched (I was picky in what i wanted and was just about to place a custom order: non-black interior, 6spd, M sport, pretty loaded) i found a car in lancaster, PA. exactly the color combo i wanted with a few more options than i would have ordered but still fit the bill. and it still has the transferable maintenance so it'll be easier to lease swap in a year or so. the car has an MSRP of $62,965; i'll post a pic of the window sticker later
BSM/coral Msport + 19inch rims M sport brakes cold weather DA and DA + DHP Tech Premium auto high beam M performance shifter wheel locks i'm sure i'm forgetting something either way i flew to PA on friday and drove it down over the weekend. amazing car. very fun. i can actually see myself keeping this car for a while; but who knows

thanks for all the congrats guys, really excited to be back in a manual transmission
i definitely miss the torque of that monster twin turbo V8. this car is no slouch and the manual transmission helps, but i have a feeling i'll be in an M4 in a year or so

Very nice. Congratulations. I came from an X3 so getting back down to a more nimble car was also what I wanted. Love the Coral Red seats. I miss them from my 135 but didn't want the Superman look with my EBII exterior.

its definitely a step down, but i think the manual transmission makes a difference. people complain about a lot of plastic in the car. that is especially true with an automatic with vast expanses of plastic around the shifter. with the manual a lot of the plastic is replaced by the leather shift boot (or alcantara in my case).
otherwise the interior is not too shabby. the one very surprising thing is rear legroom space. there is probably more than in my 550. the rear seat when combined with the comfort seats sucks in the F10. i sat in the back of the 435i (i'm 6'2) with my cousin in the front seat (5'10) and i had plenty of leg room. headroom was a slight issue. the technology is also very nice in this car. i didnt realize they made a big update to the 14s. bluetooth audio is a lot better now. i could only go to the next or previous track via AD2P in my 13. now i have full access to my playlists via bluetooth. also other small improvements the idrive (touch is cool, volume on screen, etc) i'm loving the speed limit info in the HUD... what else.. the one weird thing is that the car always travels one MPH below what you set the cruise too. IE, i set the cruise to 70 and it'll go 69.. never had that issue in the 550i i had the static m sport suspension on my 13 550, but had the adjustable suspension on my previous 12 535i. in the 535i i really didnt feel any difference in the suspension between settings; and was just generally too soft (why i switched to the 550). but in this car the suspension does feel very different between modes. pretty cool. sport is nice and firm without being too stiff. comfort was really comfortable on the highway. i hate that i have to open my sunroof cover with my own power like an animal. was cool to have it powered on the 550

oh and one more thing, those stupid ass turn signals on the side mirrors are a huge distraction at night. i'm getting the car tinted soon and will see if he can tint those signals.

Always thought this about the 5. It is a beautiful car and has the luxury interior I wish the F3X had, it was just not fun to drive. The M5 is a thrill in a straight line but that get's old.
Congrats on the new car. |

Thanks for the input on the inside, I was just wondering how you liked the fit and finish of everything. I saw a white on black m sport 550 at the dealer and fell in love. and yes the turn signals at night are extremely distracting, I have 15% on the sides and I dont even notice anymore.

MSRP: $62,985
Selling price (i also had the $1k voucher): $56,500 residual: 62% (12k miles) MF: .00140 (i was fine with that small increase) payment + 7% tax = $690/month total at drive off was $1200. first month and a few fees
