428ix Coupe vs 428ix Gran Coupe

Hi,

I took delivery of a 428ix GC a few days back. I love my new car but there is something bugging me.

Prior to my purchase i test drove a 428ix Coupe and what i recall it felt more fun to drive and faster than my 428ix Gran Coupe.
How come i feel such a difference?

The difference in weight is only 55kg and when i drove the Coupe i had a friend (80kg) with me so the weight difference should not be an issue.

Regarding speed, will my engine get a little quicker with more miles? I think i read that people are saying the engine gets a little quicker after a while, can anyone confirm this?

Anyone else had the chance to make the comparison between the Coupe and the Gran Coupe? What are your impressions?

Did you drive it in the same drive mode? Also did the 428 coupe have more miles on it?

Let the car break in...after about 4000 km the car is broken in fully... But you car should be at full power at 1600 km

This has been my xperience for all performance cars; including BMWs.

I have a theory that BMW is dialing up the boost on the regular 428s. Check the car and driver review of the 428, they get a 0-60 of 5.3sec. It could be that the 4GC is not getting the same treatment. Look into a BMS tune.

Well the GranCoupe weighs 100lbs more. Could have something to do with it.
