Sustained levels (like in a 1/4 mile pull) would produce higher EGT's. The water portion of the liquid injection really helps control EGT's... Removing the exhaust bottleneck allowed for even more aggressive fueling while maintaining even lower EGT's. For the back to back 11.8 sec 1/4 mile pulls I was logging peak EGT's of ~1100-1150F if my memory is correct.
