Need some guidance…

I have a 2009 335d with the sports suspension. I have 19” rims with 275r19 tires in the rear. When I drive the car at high speeds and take a dip or turn sharply around a corner my tires scrap. I think at 95k miles that the rear springs have become week and need of replacement. What I need guidance on, is there a temporary way to make the springs stiffer and possibly add ride height (1”) through the use of a coil spring booster and\or isolator, while I save money to get a coilover kit?

Thanks.

Wait, did you recently swap to 19" or have you had them for a while and this scraping issue only started happening? Also, when you mean by "scraping," are your tires rubbing?

When I bought the car they came with 19". The scrapping\tire rubbing happened when I made the mistake of going up in tire size from 265 to 275. It was rubbing before but now its more pronounce. I like the aggressive look but cannot sit anyone in the back without it majorly rubbing the tires.

It does not happen all the time, just when I go over dips in the road a high speeds and taking sharp corners.

So increasing ride height or spring stiffness will not work?

Why'd you decide to go down in size? Just curious

I'm currently running 19" AG m310. I wanted the VMR 710's but they were all out of stockđŸ˜*

That's what happened to me when I added wheel spacers w/ Michelin PSS tires. Just need a good ol' fender rolling like Puerto Rican suggested and the problem will disappear. No need to brake open the wallet for some pricey coilovers.

Well, I just found out that my fenders are already rolled. I guess next step is to get them flared and maybe replace the springs?

So after talking with a mechanic I have the following options:

- Go with a smaller tire 255 instead of the 275 already on there

- Replace the 19 M3 rims with a set of "regular" 19's

- Or add coilovers

Im on coilovers, you will rub even more, M3 wheels are too big and 275 are too big unless you use spacers, go with a 265 rear and get non m3 wheels... I have 265-18-35 in rear, im all the way to the ground no spacers rear et rim is 45 and I do not rub and my fenders are not rolled, I bottom out everywhere but im an inch off the ground...

I tried fitting M3 rims to my E90 and it was scrape city.

Getting the proper offset it key. I now have 19x9.5" in the front and 19x10" in the rear with ZERO scraping and I have sports suspension. Gotta tuck those wheels in!

I have 235/35ZR-19 Michelin Pilot Super Sport XL in the front and 265/30ZR-19 Michelin Pilot Super Sport XL in the back.

Same for me but with 19x9 front. Et35 up front and ET38 in back on the 10" rear wheels. Michelin PSS run pretty meaty and are almost equal to larger sized competitor tires.

M3 offsets don't work on LCI E90's, period. Pre-LCI it is certainly doable with the extra 8mm on each side out back but rubbing is a definite with a 275. You'll have to stretch a tire to an unhealthy (and ugly) degree to keep the M3 ET's and avoid tire rub. Wrong wheel for the car and really just need to replace the wheels with proper non-M offsets.

best size for a sedan 335d, front 18.85 et 35 tire 235/40/18--- rear 18.95 et 45 tire 265-35-18, I am on coilovers lowered and i do not rub no fender rolling, you can also do 225 front 255 rear tire, i just like a little more meat, don't know about 19's they are too heavy and tires get pricey at that size...just my opinion...

Wow, that's really conservative. 9.5 rears in aftermarket usually have a 33 offset, and 10" rears have a 38 offset (typically).

Definitely no rubbing on ET45 9.5 rear!

33 offset fits the coupe best...
