Inner Fender
Love the flush look and wouldn't mind rolling my rear fenders to get there but it seems to me like the inner fender would be more of an issue than the actual fender itself. Are we just removing the inner plastic fender in the rear?
At the moment I rub on one side in the rear on occasion and upon inspection it's just rubbing the plastic.

you bring up a good question..the e92 fenders are in fact two sheet. And if improperly trimmed can easily split. The inner metal is what would usually cause you to rub/slice tires. However if trimmed right or rolled you wont have an issue

I'm wondering if my inner fender is not seated properly? Due to the lack of response I'm thinking it's not a normal thing to trim or remove the inner fender.

what does it look like? Is it the passenger side? You would be able to see the metal if it split, and the inner metal would be somewhat curving around the wheel arch.

What car do you drive (year, model, E90 or E92, etc.)? Most post from the mobile app and have no idea what is/isn't in your sig, so that information would certainly help.
Having said that, I agree. With my oversized tire setup, I would rub the inner fender liner (fuzzy type material) in the rear when trying to push the tire out farther via spacers. That went away after going with a less aggressive spacer. Either way, I haven't heard of anyone doing anything to modify the liner itself either...at least on the pre-lci E90. |

2011 LCI 328i Coupe. The inner rear fenders are made of a plastic material. I'm not sure what cars have this setup. I'm am thinking that only the coupes have the inner fender.
I'll see if I can get some pictures up for a better description. As I said before, it must not be an issue for most if members are not responding to this thread. It actually confuses me a little because I'd think this would be an issue with all of the member with aggressive fitment. Trimming the plastic inner fender would give me quite a bit more room and even more if I rolled my fenders.

This is the only post I've found where someone modified the inner fender: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=814434

Many members have done work to the inner fender..I'm just not sure what you are concerned with? The felt liner is not the fender, it is in fact underneath near the body lip. On e92 it is two sheet fender.
Take a look here: This is an e92 we had to work on since it split due to a trim. We ended up cutting this all off and sealing it. Similar to the link above you posted. It depends on the aggressiveness of the wheel really, as well as tire sizes.
