Electric problem with my car... I need help!!!

Hello my friend,
I install NBT system in my F30 2012.
After 3 months the car don't make cold air. So I go to Bmw and they say to me that I can't install a navigation system aftermarker and they remove warranty on all eletronic system of my car.
They say to me that air conditioning compressor is broken and give me the car back.
Another workshop takes my car and change the compressor in warranty.
But when he installs it into my car it don't work. So he starts to find the problem, and he says to me I must change FEM unit because it's burned.
So he says to me that FEM unit is broken because I install, when I buy the car, a satellite alarm and the installator don't install it good.
Now I must pay 1000 euro to have my car without NBT but with air conditioning.
I would know if it's possible that NBT encoding brokes all.
Now he say if I want install my NBT the installator must inserts the just year (2012).
I wait some reply

Thank you for all

Marco

From what I can tell, it looks like to took out the navigation system your car came with and installed a newer system yourself. Removing such a key component is laced with problems. Doing anything in regards to the electrical system can have negative effects across your cars entire system. Different voltages, different commands, all can cause unintended side effects.

By doing this, you have voided your warranty since you did unauthorized work and installed a system that was not meant to be in your car from the factory. You are just going to have to pay for this out of pocket. That is the price you pay for adding aftermarket parts (or even OEM parts that were not meant for your car).

Do you think aftermarker installation has broken FEM unit?

It is definitely possible. The FEM, Front Electronic Module, is the main Hub that all your electrical systems go through, including the CIC/NBT. Improper installation or an aftermarket system that is not 100% compatible can likely damage the module. This is true in any type of electrical system. In my limited experience, it is very easy to damage an electrical module just by connecting wires incorrectly one time. It also does not always happen at once, as issues like slightly too much current can greatly reduce the life of the module, allowing it to work for a time but eventually burning it out far earlier than it would have.

Well since NBT isn't made for the 2012 models, they most likely changed how these systems communicate with each other. CIC can properly communicate with your vehicle components and FEM module since the rest of the vehicle components were designed for a CIC. If you just throw in an NBT, there's a good chance you will run into issues, which you are experiencing now.
