My car already has a front-facing camera for the adaptive headlights... wish that could be used to record video instead

I honestly don't understand why they don't create a system like that...
They already have plenty of cameras...
On my car there are 6 cameras (2 in front fenders, 2 in the mirrors, 1 at the back + 1 front facing) which could be used for surveillance.

It's beyond me why they don't use it for this as well...

I actually bought a BlackVue and had to return it because the power adapter they provided wouldn't fit in the F30's power ports. The ports are too shallow and it kept popping out. And BlackVue uses proprietary power adapters with a capacitor inside so the other ones I had laying around that did fit didn't allow the camera to shut down properly. Shame because the BlackVue is a very nice product.

Do you try the power outlet under dash? Passenger side?

Yep both of them were the same. I was so pissed I had to return it for something so stupid but I wasn't willing to hard wire on a leased car.
