Help! Meth w/DPF removal
I am in the group buy and waiting to get my pipe.
I ordered a meth kit not too long ago from a member on here. Needless to say, there were many parts missing (and I don't even know if the pump works yet). This is the kit I bought: http://www.snowperformance.net/mpg-max-vw-tdi.html I e-mailed Snow Performance and this is what they told me I need: "These are the only parts you would need to purchase directly from us to get the system up and going: -Tubing - $1.36 per foot -Dual nozzle upgrade - (1 tee and 1 nozzle holder) - $37.95 -Solenoid - $59.60" If I buy this stuff, will the kit work ok with the DPF delete? All my friends with petrol cars are telling me you have to pick the nozzle based on how much HP you will have. Since this kit is for a TDI, is that nozzle big enough to get the job done? What nozzle should I buy if this one is too small? TDIwyse, what do you have? I trust yours is good since you are very technical and your 1/4 mile times speak for themselves. Haha Any suggestions would be helpful as I wanna get these parts ordered and installed close to the same time as the pipe/DPF delete. |

The nozzles should have numbers on the side of them. TDI kit comes with 1,3 &4 (60, 175, 225cc/min).
Do NOT order the parts from snow, they are incredibly marked up. Hold on while I grab some amazon links.

Tubing, you can probably get this at lowes/home depot too. Just 1/4" nylon. The pump will be running around 150psi, so keep an eye on working pressure.
http://www.amazon.com/Nylon-Brake-Tu.../dp/B00CLXGHQU Tee: http://www.amazon.com/Pneumaticlus-P.../dp/B00AJ0R8S8 1/4" tube to 1/8" NPT fitting. you want two per solenoid http://www.amazon.com/SMC-KQ2H07-34A...dp/B00L5HJMC4/ 1/4" 12v solenoid: http://www.amazon.com/Electric-Solen.../dp/B00827FP26 You may have to suck it up and get a nozzle holder from them, i could not find a comparable one.

This is the closest i could find to one of their nozzle holders, but i don't think it's long enough to hold the filter side of the nozzle. The nozzles are threaded 1/8" NPT if you want to try sourcing it somewhere else.
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009PT2H9O Also they recommend using their Super Duper 6000™ sealant on all of the threads. Not sure off the top of my head what they charge for it, but it's basically the same thing as testors model glue.

Yep, they are 1/8"NPT on both sides. one for the charge pipe and the other side goes in the holder which is really just an elongated elbow

I planned on running a 50/50 mix. At least that's what I believe is the safest, but adds decent power. Unless I am wrong. I know nothing about this meth stuff. Haha

Mine is a cobbled together system with several different manufacturer's parts and some custom controller interface circuitry.
I had been running one AEM nozzle (650 ml/min) with 50/50 mix. This Spring I added a 2nd AEM nozzle (their smallest ~125ml/min). An example of the progressive flow with rpm can be seen here:

im about to purchase my kit from snow performance next week. I'm assuming your kit was sourced from a stage 1 kit? I can send you a parts list when it comes in if that helps.

I never knew this was so high tech. Haha. My friend had a CM10 he will give me. I haven't had time to find my nozzles and see which ones I have. Is the controller hard to wire up?

Snow sent me a parts list for that kit, but my question was if the kit was "big" enough to function optimally on our cars.

I just looked through my stuff and I have a #3 in the nozzle holder and a #5 and #6. I guess I should just get the CM10 from my buddy and a solenoid and that should work ok?
Also, I just tried to hook the pump up to the battery on my e30 and nothing happened. Does this mean he sold me a dead pump or does it have to be hooked up through the controller in order to work? |

a #6 is rated 625cc/min. Based on the video TDI posted a while back I think he was running the same volume.

So after reading through a number of different documents on Snow's website for different diesel Kits including the TDI kit. Snow recommends using #6 625mL/min for applications between 250 and 400 whp. Above that they recommend using a combination of a #5 & #6.
The VW mpg kit tho use a #1 60mL /min for the gas saver mode, while they recommend using a #4 225mL/min in power mode for applications between 150 to 200hp. So it would seem based on those figures that we should go with a number 5 or 6 for the power mode. I don't think I want to push as far as a 6 right out of the gate, but that's just my personal opinion. Hope that helps. |

I also meant to say that according to the parts list for the TDI kit and the kit snow makes for diesel trucks they both use the same "Ultra High Output pump". And the kit for the larger diesels is meant to accommodate up to 1L/min of output so I would think the pump should also be sufficient.
Also, what is a "CM10"? |

My pump is bad and I can't find it on their site. Guess I'll have to start shopping for that too. |
