New CTS-V Revealed (pics)

I don't know what the to think, I'm still not sure if I like it or not. I guess I'd have to see it in person. Either way this is still going to be a beast!

Something about the proportions makes it look really squished. I like the regular version more.

+1, at least in regards to the front. I can't believe they ditched the single frame-esque grille design. It's one of the reasons why I love the Caddy's new look. This one just looks a little too...AMG-ish...if you will. Not diggin the humongoid hood bulge, and it doesn't seem like they touched the fenders.

If I were to make the CTS-V, all I'd do is make the front end grille/dams bigger/more aggressive (whilst retaining the single frame style), flare out the fenders, and add a rear diffuser (as alll cars have nowadays, like Audis in particular). Then I'd add a quad exhaust system and shazaam, it'd be perfect. Oh, I'd also make the roof a gloss black regardless of body color. I wish more cars did that.

Oh yeah, two more things:

-In the profile view picture, the rear of the CTS aft of the B-pillar is bulging with muscle. Looks tight.

-In the third picture, the front end view, I think the grille and bumper split in between looks really cheap...like crappy plastic.

the lower grill just wrecks it for me...I wish there was something there to break it up a bit. I know the Mesh is part of the "V" package but that is just too much!

Just like with the M3, the bulge is there for a reason. The engine won't fit unless it is there.

I'm not feeling that at all. They could of done more with it. It reminds me of a neutered C63.

Is it just me or does the rear end look MASSIVE?? The front end looks very aggressive, low to the ground, like it should be. As you go towards the rear of the car it starts looking more and more like a DTS or STS, which I don't think is a good thing. From behind it looks just like the DTS. For a car that can eat most cars on the road, I would expect a much more aggressive rear end- especially the taillights. Hopefully it'll grow on me, because I loved the last one.

The supercharger has to go somewhere......... If you also notice that the Corvette ZR1 also has a bulge on the hood. Now the CTS-V is most likely not using the LS9, but it is using a derivative of the ZR1's supercharged 6.2 V8. At least that is what the rumors are pointing to......

I think people should keep in mind that although in price it will undercut the M3, in size this is an M5/E63 competitor.

I think so too.
I just hope they got rid of that hard cheap plastic inside around the stereo...and speaking of stereo -- hopefully more modern one, not the old GM school...

+1. Also looks like the same ho-hum CTS as before; fast car but I'm just not into the Caddy, sorry.

When was the last time you saw a big flat square supercharger?

As for the car, I slept on it. Looking at it again I am still equally un-impressed. Cadillac's straight-edge square beyond belief style is starting to wain perhaps?
