My F30 320D feel slower after official PPK installed
Hi, I am new to this forum and English is my second language, so sorry if you have difficulty understanding this thread.
After installed the PPK 3 weeks ago, at one of the BMW authorized dealer in Thailand, which includes new intercooler, new physical ECU change with remap. I also ask them to update the software to newest version, so they install me a F20-14-03-503 update (Old F020-13-03-502). First impression, the steering feel noticeably heavier, for me much better, in both sport mode and comfort mode, new interface in ConnectedDrive, ASS no more working in sport mode, which I believe all these are due to software update, not the ppk. For new ppk set, I notice that the gear change at higher rpm. It need to hit around 4500rpm to upshift compare to around 3500rpm(not so sure) as before. I notice that the car are losing power after install this kit, for the following reasons 1) Before I could hit 230km/h(143mph) easily compare to now it take much longer distance just to hit 210km/h(130mph). 2. Before the car could hit 3500rpm(not sure) and upshift fast but now the car seem harder to climp up from 3800 onward to 4500 rpm to upshift (feel like loss power at high rpm). 3. Do not feel the punch at take off (car never slip at take off anymore when you push it all the way). 4. I time the 0-100km/h (0-62mph) in sport mode 9.81secs (average 3 times) but before install the ppk 9.45 secs 5. Fuel consumtion drop from average of 13.5km/l(38mpg) to 12KM/L(34mpg) (but may due to SW update that change the calculation? when you wait for traffic light fuel consumption drop faster than before) Any suggestion that your guys think that what cause the car to feel slower? My guess is may be due to new SW update, or not installing the intercooler properly, or may be the ppk not compatible with Eisenmann exhaust.(but installed a year ago since car was new) Thanks for your comment, Kiang |
