335xi difference between trannys

What's the difference between the standard 8 at and the 8 at sport tranny? Is it just the paddles?

True. However, then you don't get the shorter shifter.

Truer. And I love the look of the Sport Shifter, the leather is a nice touch!

Coding... That's interesting.. Though I would be afraid of bricking my car...it's ashame though they charge for software...so they detune the tyranny and charge you more to bring it up to design spec. BMW really nickel and dimes you. My old 328 coupe had the best at tranny I had every had..I have to drive both and see if it's worth the purchase.

Launch control can also be enabled by coding.

Bricking your car is next to impossible since the coding program only allows you to adjust codes via a predefined drop down list.

flashing your ECUs is probably the only thing that can brick your car and that is like the freak incident IF your computer decides to blue screen of death on you mid flash. or you run out of batteries/power on your computer.

Sounds like I may pass then on the sport tranny if I can code these features in... (or does it require a reflash?)

You still don't get the paddles without it. You may be able to retrofit but c'mon this is a $500 option, is it worth the hassle for what you will save?

I have a 2013 AH3 Luxury Line without the Sport Tranny. Is somebody saying that it's possible to code in the option to get quicker shifts? Also, since I have the hybrid, BMW says that the transmission is different. Do they mean the hardware is different, software is different, or both? They already told me that there are no upgrades offered by BMW or Dinan for my suspension so I'm already kinda bummed about that (however, my front stock sways are thicker)

Both. I doubt very much the ability to code faster shifts on that system.
