Loaner 328 faster?

Yesterday I brought in my 2013 328 for some service and they gave me another 2013 328 as a loaner. Besides noticing the beige Dakota seats were softer than my Black Dakota seats, the car felt FASTER to me for some reason. It also felt better around the corners, but I chalk that up to the Michelin Tires (I Absolutely loathe the OE Continentals my car has) Any thoughts? Maybe I am just driving the loaner harder? Computer update? Am I crazy? I have driven 6 F30s over the last year and some feel faster than others, and threy were all stock (as near as I could tell) What gives?

Both cars had sport auto?
I've driven a couple loaners and they feel exactly like mine.

You should ask your dealer to run an engine diagnostic and software check on your car. If you have put some good miles on those Continentals, replace them. New tires are less prone to hydroplaning.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing because people tend to beat on loaners. I also heard something about the transmission learning ones driving habits over time, but not sure how to reset that.

Yeah, they are both the same except mine is loaded with most options and the loaner is a stripper. Neither car has the adaptive shocks. I can't imagine the options weigh so much I would feel a performance hit, but who knows?

I recommend taking TractionControlOff advice. With that being said allow me to pile on. I do not like Continentals, period! Not sure if you are referring to A/S or summer performance, but based on my experience, Continentals provides a soft supple ride better suited for a generic family sedan. My recommendation, to enhance performance switch to Pirelli's or Michelin.

There should be no reason why the loaner feels faster, unless you have small boost leak somewhere or the engine is not performing at 100%

You know what they say. A rented car is the fastest car in the world.

Could the loaner be a n26, while the OP owns an n20? I've heard the 26s are less laggy.

I had a loaner back in Feb which was a '14 compared to my '12. With being a '14 it had the EWG while mine has the PWG. The lag was considerably less in the '14 with the EWG.

Bingo! I think you nailed it! The loaner is a N26 while my car is N20. One wouldn't think there would be that much of a difference, but my butt dyno can sure tell! I searched the forum and other people noticed a difference from the N20 to N26 as well. Now I kinda wish I didn't know, because I feel ripped off, since the N26 (to me at least, feels more like the old 3.0NA) and has a more linear power delivery.
