Has anyone succesfully used one of the water based tyre sealants and if so which make ?

Reputable local tyre dealer said that they would not repair in the event of using the BMW supplied sealant as it contains chemicals which "attack" the inner tyre to help the sealing process - if it actually works in the first place ! They recommended buying a get me home spare and jack.

BMW genius said that whilst the car is under breakdown warranty BMW will arrange tow in the event of a puncture, which surprised me.
