Turn off PDC back up audible alarm?

I feel like I’m missing something obvious, but I could have sworn when I first got my X2 I had found a menu setting to turn off the audible back up alarm for PDC. Now however I can’t find it in IDrive or BimmerCode. I have a hitch mount bike rack and every time I back up my long driveway the car is screaming at me the whole time. Would love to disable this while I’m using my bike rack.

Was I just dreaming of this option?

Can't you just hit the button in the console, by the shifter?

Maybe referring to it as the PDC was the wrong way to put it. It's the audible alarms that sound whenever you're backing up too close to something, or even if the front end comes to close to something. I don't think it's specifically related to the auto parking function, just the proximity sensors in the bumpers.

Auto parking? The button I'm referring to turns off the camera and clears the display back to whatever it was doing. I thought it turned off the warnings too, but I guess I've never really noticed. I'll try it later.

I was going with //TMT. It's a picture of the parking cone and a sonar.. you click it and it should turn off the pdc and maybe the cameras.. you can go into the vehicle settings menu and adjust the loudness of the warning chimes, but I don't believe you can turn it off through there.

Yeah I went to the menus and turned the volume down all the way.. it's still pretty annoying. I totally understand your pain. I do recall that perhaps what some people do is put resistors into the tow hitch adapter to sense it into knowing that there's a hitch and it turns off. There may be a way to code it as well.. but you'll have to do down that rabbithole. I know you can turn off pdc front/back separately via coding on other cars.
