Sometimes there are other factors that prevent it from working. But, you can still FDL code.

Yes, FDL coding needs launcher.

Premium is free and will work until June 2018.

Pro is $50 and will work for 2.5 years.

Almaretto,

I brought my vehicle to the dealer to reprogram for a recall. They called me later in the day to tell me the module is not taking the programming and that the module is left without program so I have to leave the car overnight.
I have coded the vehicle by toggling a few options and adding 6NS to FA. Would that cause the update to not take?

If you wrote modified FA to VCM, then, yes, that could cause programming issues. I simply load and VO code rather than ever touching VCM tab.

Oh didn't know that. Car still with dealer. They will be able to recover or at least put it back to default?

Get car back, write original FA to VCM, and return to service. As far as what to say, I would recommend as little as possible.

I got the car back today. They were able to update the software. When from i-step F056-15-11-505 to F056-17-11-542. My FA list looks intact including the 6NS i added. All of other coding are back to default from what i can tell. On the work order it said to programming DME and DSC as part of recall. Do they normally only upgrade individual modules or full programming?

It depends on shop. But, usually they update all ECU's that have available new firmware. If you saved previous SVT, you can load side-by-side.

Looks like all the modules were updated.

Trying to re-code some options back. I am using e-sys 3.28 with psdzdata 3.63.3. When i open my HU cafd, it doesn't look to be mapped. See capture below. Do you know what i am missing?

That can be a memory issue. Try excluding kiswb that you do not use.

I restarted e-sys in high memory mode and it's working now. Is launcher pro required to exclude kisdb?

No. Pro has easily configured method, but you can also delete or temporarily move unused.
