X1 F48 confirm gear indicator?
I have a 2016 X1 28i m-sport US version...
Can anyone confirm if there should be a gear indicator? I don't get a P, D, R, S, M, in the instrument cluster. Thanks!

Maybe it depends on the instrument cluster you have? Our 2019 has the newer black panel cluster and there's always a gear indicator in the tach. PRND etc. in regular driving and then it'll show you the actual forward gear number when in sport or manual mode.

Hey Halcyon, I too do not have the gear selector display either for my 17 xline, Brazil build. Tried coding and no luck. In sport mode nothing as well. I think BMW used spare instrument clusters from inventory and dumped us with them. Next visit to dealer and will ask why.

May 2016 build xDrive 25i non-M-sport AUS/EUR version.
Indicator is in the tacho display. Always been there - car hasn't been coded. Whether its there or not might be a regional thing, but I can't think of a reason why - |
