Replacement X2 keyhole cover thingie?

Hey all, not sure how it happened but the tabs holding the little plastic cover that goes over the hidden keyhole on my drivers door broke off. So I need to get a replacement, but I'm not sure what it's actually called so I'm having trouble finding a place online that sells them.

Anyone know the part number or what it's called, or better yet a place that sells them? Thanks, this one stumped me!

Here’s what you might want to try… A small dab of GE silicone II on the inside of the cover -pencil eraser size- that would hold it on. It’s under no stress. But with a good tug, it would come off again Without any damage.

Not a bad idea, I'll look into that. I had re-glued (epoxy-ed) the tabs that broke, but apparently that wasn't enough.

You could try a metal welder? Or get some injenuity, heat up a paper clip and jam that sucker onto the tab.

I just re-read this and I meant plastic welder.. which just heats up a metal piece that you melt into the plastic to hold it together... hence the hot paperclip

So far it looks like the silicon is holding better than I expected. But I'll keep the paper clip trick in mind if it doesn't work out.

Regular epoxy doesn't work well on plastic, especially ABS which these covers are probably made of. You need to use "Plastic Welder" epoxy, which has solvents which activate the plastic to accept the resin. They can take a long time (hours) to completely set up but they often work well.

I like the dab o'silicone idea though!
