Start button thefts
Our local police have put in a message to put your key in a faraday bag if your car has a start button, my x1 has a start button but I thought it was just keyless cars at risk. Can the signal be diverted with the X1 having a start button.

BMW have a sleep/security mode, after approx 15 mins the key will not send codes/signal unless the button is pushed so cannot be hijacked after this time. This stops doorstep signal thefts from keys left in hallways. Faraday boxes/bags are however useful to prevent signal skimming in public places like a car park. I understand BMW cars with comfort access also have security so keys need to be picked up/moved in order to activate.
