MS FS2020 Reno Air Races

Well, it is Sim Racing. Heh!

Flying around pylons is pretty challenging and very 3D. There is wake turbulence from leading aircraft and high G loads in the turns cause the airplane to slow down a bit - just like the real thing. It is a constant juggle between not rounding the corners too much and not pulling excessive G's. Also, getting as close to the pylons as possible without making a cut, resulting in a big time penalty. Really fun.

There are 4 racing classes including jets, unlimited, T-6 and biplanes.

Unfortunately, FS2020 requires a pretty beefy gaming computer to get decent frame rates. I recently upgraded my computer to an AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-core CPU and matching ASUS Hero gaming motherboard - halfway there. A new GeForce nVidia RTX 3080 10GB video card is on the way, plus a new Alienware 27" 4K gaming monitor.

Sweet, I see you have a thread for MS Flight Sim!

I'm playing on a ASUS ROG laptop, Ryzen 9 5900HS, RTX3060, 16GB DDR4. Only time I have seen stutter is when flying low in mountain valleys, but I'm also only using the low bandwidth with high video settings. I need to remember to start my frame counter next time I fire it up so I can see if it's a GPU stutter or a bandwidth stutter.

When I get home I'm getting a stick and will start diving into more, but I've just been casually flying around aimlessly with a xbox style controller so far.

Really like flying MSFS and Driving Assetto Corsa too.

I'm running an ASUS ROG STRIX Z490-E, Intel 10850k overclocked, Corsair RGB Pro 64 GB DDR4-3600, Evga FTW3 Ultra RTX 3090 with an HP G2 VR headset and LG CX 48" screen.

Using Logitech yoke, throttle, and rudder pedals for flying and Logitech G923 wheel and pedals driving for now.

I haven't played it yet, though I did buy a bunch of the planes during a sale. I want to try it in VR but I'm already borderline nauseated when flying choppers, so I'm not sure about doing acro in VR.
