Those M colored grill stripes?
I know some people think it's a bit cheesy, but I really like the way those grills with the three M-color vertical slats looks. I've seen it on some BMW press launches online, but I can only find what looks like cheaper snap on plastic pieces for my 2020 M35i.
Are there any quality grills out there like this, or is a plastic snap on piece all we have? |

Hah, I admit to having the plastic bits installed. But, they went on perfectly and have not given me any issues whatsoever, including during lots of drive-through car washes. I like the way they make the car pop a little visually and I think folks are a little more likely to pull over from the fast lane when they see 'em in their rear view. I even had a parent of one of my students go bonkers when he saw them; knowing just enough to recognize what they meant but not enough to know they were fake, haha...

Good luck. Amazon says I bought these last November, so that's several months of trouble-free use. Honestly, for the price, if they broke now I'd just buy another set and be happy...

I bought some stripes from Amazon UK.
Fitted them and took them straight off. The ones they sell have a huge cut out on the left side showing most of the grill fin and look awful. I think the better ones cover the grill fins completely. At the moment that type is not currently available in the UK. |

So my kids roll their eyes and say don't be a poser, Dad. But I like 'em. They jazz up the grille and bring your eye to it much more than the black stock bars. And the colors maybe go nicely with Sunset Orange.

I ended up just ordering some from Amazon. For the price I figure if they look cheap or aren't doing it for me, easy enough to get rid of without feeling too bad.

Apparently just don’t try to take them off. Mine were destroyed by the collision center.

I'm on the fence about those stripes.. I think it's a tad much, but I've been seeing an influx of cars this last year that has them on. At least a good number of us have the m35i so it's not as much posing. I did have someone at a mall call me out on the M35i badge and I told him that the car came with that, go look it up. And when I just got in and turned it on his eyes popped a little when he heard the grumble of the exhaust.

Meh, I could care less about the whole M car debate, this is by far the nicest car I've ever owned (closest was Acura RSX Type-S years ago) and I'm very happy with it.
I also live in a pretty nice part of Seattle, and there are dozens of nicer BMWs than mine within a few blocks, so it's not about bragging rights for me. The stripes will just accent the car nicely I think especially with my darker mineral grey. |

While there are certainly a few cars that can take our M35i s off the line, I feel that even some super cars would have a hard time at highway speeds. I astound myself at the ridiculous velocity this car can attain just making a pass.

I have the Sunset Orange too, and I agree (haha). This might be taking things a little too deep, but... I rode a 2013 S1000RR for a while and I remember people used to get really bugged by the asymmetrical headlights. However, I kinda liked 'em because they broke up the visual balance. These do the same thing...

I rear ended a lady who just stopped in the middle of the road and did about 7k to the front end. The shop did a great job.

Thanks everyone for the tips on tracking these down, they just came today:
I have to say though, starting to think it might be a bit much on the darker vibe I'm going for. I might have to rethink keeping these on all the time. Luckily they're pretty easy to put on and take off. |
