yeah right.
I see a lot of X5 drivers at the service station to enter the bathroom - and head right into the stall to piss.
When I was buying the X1 people were making jokes I am buying a "trophy wife car" and all the lady car jokes in general.
But guess what - I do not fucking care, because I have nothing to prove to the world.
Aaaand yes - I may consider buying an X2 - if the production version would be exactly X1 - with 3 doors. I do need 4 seats in the car, but not that often to need back doors, the front doors on X1 are comically small and even people with my average 5f11" height have the seat a bit too much in the back compared to the B pillar, so getitng in the car is not as comfortable as it could be.

I have seen the real car (not the concept) in the flesh at it looks great. It should be a hit hopefully. This is a shape that will of course require the biggest wheels and high spec treatment to show it its lines well.

Let's hope they give the next X4 the same design fizz in the future.

A more sloping roof line.

I like what I see, has big wheels, double exhausts and a sleek shape.

Thanks for your help.

So does this help the rain water run off or something?

You missed this awkwardly long run on sentence that's on page one.

"The X2 will ride on the X1's UKL platform and will provide a coupe-like alternative to the new X1 (F48) just as the X4 does for the X3 and the X6 does for the X5, which means the X2 will also share an interior with the new X1." [sic]

As many as possible! :readthethread

The crossover segment is booming. BMW can sell as many vehicles as possible in that segment and build another niche vehicle elsewhere. As far as I am concerned they can keep on keeping on because There is an M2 GTS/CSL segment that REMAINS wholly unfulfilled.

There are many segments that are unfulfilled! And they are all profitable:

Supercar (McLaren Ferrari Mercedes etc)
Sports car (Porsche)
M Tourers (Wagon e.g. RS6)
M Hatch (Ford Focus RS)
City car (e.g. A1)
Uprated M2 and M3 versions (C63R)
And so on etc

I'm not denying the X2 will probably be a handsome thing (barring the seats and terrible gear lever) but I'd be 10 x more excited to see ANY of the above over another SUV

What's up with the wheel arch curvature? It's trying to be boxy while also circular and it finds itself right in that awkward stage.

the key here is that it really costs them very little to make a variant on the same platform. This is why BMW currently has 3 series , 4 series... 4 series gran coupe.. 3 series GT.. 3 series touring... all on the same platform.

The X1/X2 are also earmarked for production in Brazil. So it is only natural that the X2 Concept went to the São Paulo Auto show.

I personally think the latest BMW designs are mature and gorgeous, including the upcoming X2. I am looking forward to seeing the new X3!

I wonder if this would kill their X1 market share?! As I suspect X2 being a much better car and potentially the price range would need to stay in between X1 and X3. So the way I see it, X1 would be an endangered specie.
It would have been worthwhile to go after something that would compete with Tesla or segments that have a bigger gap... and kept this as the next gen of X1 or something.

Not a single even numbered vehicle sells more than its companion odd numbered vehicle in the ENTIRE BMW lineup.

3 > 4

5 > 6

7 > nothing

X3> X4

X5> X6

Can't see an X2 out selling the X1 but we shall see ..
