This. And that's not a good thing IMO...

Too bad it won't look remotely as good as this.

Unfortunately, the M35i version of the X1 is the more exciting part of this news, not the new X2 body shape.

A hot new X1 will be a big winner for BMW.

No, they most certainly cannot and will not mount a transverse inline 6 in this vehicle or any other UKL vehicle.

If not, it has no business being called 35i.
Can't help but notice you sound a bit upset here. Why?

If the product has roughly 300hp just like other 35i vehicle (and reportedly, it will), then it makes perfect sense to use the 35i moniker. As you are probably already aware, the I6 powered vehicles are all switching to the 40i label, and the 30i label is now for vehicles that use the ~250hp B48. So then, 35i is actually the best fit here.

Progress - it's a good thing. Roll with it, don't hate it.

If they make a 4 cylinder with that kind of output, they will probably do away with the straight 6 with similar power. That is what happened to the N52. Not a good thing imo.

X1 / X2 M35i Availability

Scott-

Do you have any feedback on when the M35i model will be available for the X1 or X2?

I get all my production and EOP info from the following thread, but did not see any specific dates.

http://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=901686

Any info on release or productions dates will be greatly appreciated.

Danke

Thanks Scott, will probably have to make a move on a X4 M40i.

I figured the X1 M35i would of been announce a year after initial production.
