Middle Cup Holder easy removal?

I managed to drop a single key down these ridiculous slats in the in-built cup-holder, the one that is underneath the sliding arm rest in the forward position.

I have managed to get the upper trim off; but can't obviously see / find anywhere online how to unclip the actual well.
It looks like a twist / screwdriver then lift type job - does anyone have any idea?

I can't seem to find any online removals or references to the actual piece that would give me a clue!

The trim is no. 21 in this link: https://parts.bmwofstratham.com/show...sembly=5810555

but can't for the life of me find anything that will help with the actual well!
Other options include removing the central console piece and seeing if I can see it..
Any guidance greatly appreciated

Update

I managed to fish the key out by unpopping the casing on the handbrake; releasing the handbrake, and using a small allen key attached to a bamboo straw attached too a drumstick through the gap!

No help if you needed to replace the cup holder but my current problem solved!

Is that where the iDrive controller would go?

I was going to ask if you've tried using a magnet on a string...

But glad to hear you got it.
