Only 25-30K for pad replacement is ridiculously low... My 2001 330i still has original pads at 83K, albeit down to 4mm so I will finally replace them after 21 years! LOL at the X1, undersized brake pads for sure.

Agreed, it's insane. A BMW guy told me that it has to do with how traction control works on the X1. But, like you, I think it also has undersized brake pads.
