Yes bud, unfortunately, some problem from factory with wishbones. Take a look at this: https://f48.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1666236. There're also older threads describing the same.

There's a TSB and warranty repair for this, but it doesn't apply in every market (e.g., in Mexico it didn't). You should definitely go to the dealer and inform them of the situation; maybe you get lucky, haha.

Only 25-30K for pad replacement is ridiculously low... My 2001 330i still has original pads at 83K, albeit down to 4mm so I will finally replace them after 21 years! LOL at the X1, undersized brake pads for sure.

Agreed, it's insane. A BMW guy told me that it has to do with how traction control works on the X1. But, like you, I think it also has undersized brake pads.
