Extended warrantee quotes for 2020 BMW X1
My warantee is about to expire and I thought I would take a look at pricing from BMW (OEM warrantee) and J&MA/Fidelity.
Our 2020 BMW X1 only has 23K miles, so I assumed that the price for an platinum-level extended warrantee (7 year/ 75K miles) which would extend the coverage for another 3 years is ridiculous!!!! $5100-$5400 ($250 deductible)😆 No way Jose!

Just got a BMW 3 year 75k platnum with $0 deductable on my 2021 X1 for $3700 from my dealer. I was quoted $4800 but shopped around from other BMW dealers. The best advice I got before I started looking was get quotes and ask for discounts. Good luck.

Update. Shopped around and was able to find a Fidelity/JM&A platinum extended warranty (additional 4 years/ 48K miles), $250 deductible for $3,700 from Nichole (Southbay BMW finance dept).

Has anyone ever used an extended warranty?
I'm on my 4th bmw. I usually get rid of them between 70-80k. Never had issues. Do my own maintenance. |

Absolutely. BMWs have a long history and reputation of needing out of warranty repairs. Had an EW on my 2013 X3. Before selling it back to BMW in 2020 (BMW CPO’d and resold it because it had low miles and was well maintained). My EW saved me from having to spend over $8K on needed repairs (mostly electrical, reprogramming, NAV unit, air suspension, etc).
My wife’s 2020 X1 is also in great shape with low miles. But the car has a 7/10 Reliability rating from JD Powers and others. Potential issues appear to be suspension/mechanical (motor mounts, air conditioning compressor) and electrical/ engine diagnostics related. Don’t get me wrong, we love the car. Just covering our bets given what we experienced previously and what our BMW mechanic friends have recommended.
