European Delivery and Dealership Flexibility
I am in the market for a M5 in the next 12-18 months or so and likely will be able to finally do ED. Its been awhile since I have been in the market for a new car and have never done ED before but seems like the best way to get the price. Do dealers lose an inventory spot if the order through ED or do they have any reason to negotiate a great deal? Or is it more of a hassle for them?

contrary to popular belief, ED is not the best way to get a deal anymore. It's just another "thing" now. So if you want a good deal, shop around. If you want to do ED, find a dealer that is willing to put in the leg work and get it done for you. Do not expect a discount on the car because you're doing it though. Discounts can be had, regardless of ED trip or not.

I negotiated a $5k off MSRP on top of the 5% discount on a Limerock Grey M5 (non comp). Thought that was a decent deal for ED and spec'ing the car how I wanted.
Best way to get a deal is to negotiate on an existing car sitting on the dealer lot. Happy hunting! |
