I've been hunting around to find out what I need to do the get CarPlay activated on my 2018 X2, any help would be greatly appreciated.

It has the smaller screen,
The maps version is:
101011713.1.00
Road Map EUROPE Way 2017-3
R2144B1R

Can someone please let me know if it’s possible to active CarPlay in my car somehow without changing the headunit?

Last 7 VIN digits: 3H44111

BMW X1 2018 F48.

I'm a bit confused as to how I can get carplay and would prefer not to have to change the headunit / get it for the most affordable price. Thanks so much.

Looking to see if I can install CarPlay in my F48 - Stumbled upon this thread whilst searching and it sounds possible from reading through. Would anybody mind having a look at the details here to confirm?

I've seen this stement on my 6.5' Road Map EUROPE Way 2017-3 screen. Car registered in Belgium in December 2017, 3D87959 VIN.
I wonder how difficult would be to have CarPlay?!

Just picked this up as a used lease return from my local Canadian dealership.

Apple CarPlay is functional, I am not sure if it is on some sort of a subscription or permanent ... How can I confirm?
Edit: Dealer was able to confirm it is perpetual.

I am also not sure how to determine if I have the 8.8" or the 6.5" as the screen looks big enough to be 9" diagonally, but there is quite a bit of non-illuminated area on the sides. Perhaps they have the same housing bump for either size of LCD?

I suspect it is the 6.5" as that is about the diagonal of the illuminated portion.
Edit: I have the 6.5" the 8.8 has squarer sides for those wondering
