Hey all

Just picked up a 2018 X1 28i (Msport package, for what it's worth) for the wife. I like the car, and already have a BMS JB4 tune on it's way. I've had great success with 4 previous BMW's in the past. Should give it a bit more kick.

I'm having a hard time understanding the package details in this car however. It came pretty near fully loaded, but there's a few niggles.

For instance, we have a back up camera with obstacle notification etc - but no front sensors for parking?? I mean, the car has crash avoidance and more, but they never programmed those sensors to help out with parking on the front? Our old previous gen X1 and 3 series both had it. Strange. Seems like a glaring omission.

Congratulations on your new car.

Yes I think it's a bit mean that the reversing camera is only available in Tech Pack 1 (at least here in the UK).

So something I paid £300 for when I bought my X1 in 2018 I now have to pay £900.

Admittedly Tech Pack 1 does contain other things like adaptive headlights.

Having said all this I will probably end up shelling out when I replace my X1 in 2021

Welcome! I just picked up my 2018 m sport, xdrive on Monday. Curious to hear about how the tune works out for you. Having just moved on from a 135, I’m missing the extra grunt. I actually have reverse camera without park assist, but still has collision notification, think it’s all camera and no proximity sensors.
