Lane departure warning

Anyone uses Lane departure warning in their new X1? I am confused when the lane departure warning light supposed to be green.

It's green when it can detect both lanes to you left and right. Orange when it can't. It will buzz the steering wheel for about 2 seconds if you move out of your lane without using a turn signal. Hope this helps.

Thanks, I got the information. It's green when it can detect both lanes to you left and right. Orange when it can't but only kicks in when you reach a certain speed say 35mph.

The lane departure system is active(green) only at speed 40miles/hr or above. Below 40 miles/hr, this is inactive and orange. But I've seen at times it also works above 37 miles/hr, but definitely not below that.

So here's my dilemna

It's green

I'm above 40

Yet my steering wheel does not vibrate or give any feedback at all

I've tried several times to actually let it roll into other lanes ( safely of course )
And nothing ?

Any other way I can determine this is functioning correctly ?

Thanks

On my m240 it is pretty aggressive at vibrating as soon as you hit the lines, it sounds to me like there is an issue with yours.

Have you made sure it's enabled in iDrive?

Could be that the vibration is set to not very aggressive. On my X2 it's more aggressive than the loaner X3 I have right now. Both are set to aggressive. I ended up turning mine off since I felt that either way it doesn't shake enough to really worry me, but it's annoying enough when I'm turning and get too close to the lines that I don't want it. If it's not set to "on" in the safety features the lights will not turn on. So my assumption is that the vibration is set to "weak".

I had the same issue on my X2. Took it to the dealer, who told me they need to replace a part which is malfunctioning (not sure exactly what) which they have ordered from Germany - am currently waiting for it to arrive.
