Proper this is my previous setup, I'm currently working on having a less aggressive burble. I had the resonator and secondary cat removed and the right exhaust flap is welded to stay open at all times.

Im worried about CEL. You said you still got one with the catted DP? Also can you make a video with the car under load, like driving away and interior.

I think if you get a catted DP with a 200cel cat from HJS (https://www.hjs-motorsport.de/produc...downpipes.html) you will not get a CEL, I believe they guarantee it. I think Fabspeed and a few other companies use HJS cats on their aftermarket DPs. I got my CEL fixed by installing a mini cat from bigdaddiesgarage (http://www.bigdaddiesgarage.com/mini-cat-cel-fix.html). Removing the 2ndary cat will not cause a CEL. Sorry, been super busy the last few weeks. I have my GoPro with mount so hopefully I can throw it on tmrw after work. Sorry again!

ventjock,

Not to get off topic, but I know that Evolve Tune can disable the CEL, irregardless if it's Hi-Flo Catted DP or Catless DP. Did you mentioned that to Evolve when you got the Tune?

Correct, but the fix was already installed. I might be a little too cautious but for emissions purposes (inspection is in a few months) I want to make sure I’ll pass. After that I’ll probably remove the mini cat and use the tune to disable the CEL until it’s time to do emissions testing again.

I still would love to hear some interior under load audio and some outside the car rev and under load.

I did the f48 bmw x1 2018 mod, using a JCW pro exhaust from a Mini F54

The sound is crazy

What was required to make the JCW exhaust work. Straight bolt on? Do you have xdrive X1?

I'm back in school so budget is priority #1 more than ever; however I never got the exhaust note that I wanted out of the X1 (even after a high flow catted downpipe, a resonator delete, a secondary cat delete, and permanently keeping the right exhaust flap open). An aftermarket exhaust would be out of the question and the area that I'm in (based on two shops) wanted more for a full muffler delete that was I was quoted previously in Boston. So how could I get something louder, but still cheaper? The idea of a bypass valve made sense, but I'd need to take it two places... and I just wanted something quick and easy. I just got this done this morning and will update later with sound clips from inside the cabin (pre and post) as well cold starts (pre and post).

Edit: this is a poor man’s bypass. A pipe was wyed in before the muffler to route the majority of exhaust flow out the left. The old left side exit out of the muffler was welded closed. There is still some flow to the right of the wye/the muffler (how much not sure).

I’m happy with the lower and deeper exhaust sound. I’m not running my ECU tune, but even in sport mode there aren’t too many pops to sound overly annoying. I didn’t notice any difference on the highway except when I pushed on the accelerator, then I could definitely hear the exhaust.

ventjock,

What's your budget? Other members may be able to give more meaningful input knowing how much you can put into exhaust enhancements.

Also, did they seal off that old opening immediately after the muffler? If not, you may be at risk of exhaust gases floating into the interior and/or soot buildup on the underside.

Budget was $250 (living off loans and savings). Aftermarket exhausts that would require modifications would run $1,100+ (NM Engineering, Dinan, JCW Pro). I’m probably going to sell the X1 in the next year and a half so that was another consideration.

Muffler is still seeing exhaust flow, the added pipe is wyed in, didn’t clarify that. I’m going to run downstairs to record a cold start with the setup and post video clips up afterward so others can see the difference for the minor investment.

Nice one, worth the effort given it now takes time and money for a good exhaust.

May just do this instead of the Dinan exhaust; if they ever decide to put one on the market.

Hey everyone! Just bought my X1 last month and I already ordered my exhaust from Supersprint! They emailed me and said it should arrive in late July.
Will definitely post some vids/pics when it arrives and got it installed

Here is what I got:

The time has finally come!

Sad news, Turner motorsport messed up their listing for the exhaust and did not send the front pipe so I only installed the muffler alone.

None the less it is amazing, sounds so deep, aggressive but also does not drone. I get some pops here and there.

Will post some videos at the end of the month when the front pipe arrives.

Here are some pics!

I am so in love. Worth the 7 month wait LOL.

I will soon! Supersprint delayed the front pipe, want to record once that's installed.

Video will come out this June.

Finally! The time has come!

I have installed the front pipe and all I can say after 2 days:
This exhaust is insane. I freaking love it so much.

Its pretty much my review of just the muffler (in my previous post) times 1000.

Super deep tone, when driving normally its not intrusive to the cabin, 0 drone, when you put the car in sports+ it really opens up and becomes a monster

Ill post vid of the cold start here. Want the exhaust to break in a little before I post a fly by (early June).
