I read all the posts under this thread, but I didn't see anyone posting after getting the guide... I'm guessing that's a good sign, but I was curious if the guide includes taking apart the whole HU and part of the dashboard as well?

I'm not that handy and I'm starting to wonder what is the level of difficulty for this job and weather I'll be ready.

Still looking forward to the idea of carplay, though.

I managed to bimmercode and did 3000 HMI "Carplay_Fullscreen : aktiv, it worked but the quality is bad.

Hello,

A strange situation, maybe someone will suggest something?
So:

X1 F48 with Entrynav2 (with WiFi port) and Way maps.
Officially BMW does not offer any unit updates and Carplay activations.
But it offers a few other services like Connected Drive Booster (traffic, weather, etc).
I found a friend who activated Cartplay for me, I added an antenna. Everything works great.
I wanted more and bought this Connected Booster officially on the BMW website. And this is where the problems started:
Communication with BMW servers that send this information to the car does not work. I mean, some works, some don't.
Works with remote opening and closing, remote car location, and BMW call service.
However, nothing from the purchased package works as weather, traffic info, news, sending the location from the application to the car's GPS...

Could activating Carplay be the reason why something stopped working? Have any of you had a similar situation? Unfortunately, I didn't check that these services were before activating carplay. ;(
Are there any options to run these online services having Carplay? Any ideas?

If CarPlay was enabled via Provisioning of car ATM with Donor VIN, you will get only the Telematic services associated with Donor VIN, not those subscribed to car VIN.

Car can only be Provisioned using one VIN, and you get only the Telematic services subscribed to that VIN.

It appears so, but that is a question for your installer, not me.

Talk to your installer. If he used Donor VIN that lacks all the services you want, then another VIN should be used.
