Don't hold your breath for it. Given the similarities of the X1 and X2, if there was going to be an X1 M35i, there would be at least some rumours and there are none that I've heard.

I agree. It is stupidly expensive. I mean are people really going to spring $50k for a "normal" hatchback? Maybe if it were a shooting brake M2, but an X2 WTF actually?
Yes but anyone ever pay RRP for a BMW? :

I got 25% off our family X2 so it starts to look ok value then.

That's why you have to step up to a X3 M40i.

The X3 M40i is a very nice vehicle, but it's not a small step. Not only is it quite a bit more expensive, it's also quite a bit larger. People don't seem to realize that vehicle purchasing decisions aren't always about money. When I decided on an X2, it was because the X2 was the right size for my situation.

^^^ Agreed. I want a small(er) DD, no larger in width/length than the X2.
I'm still deciding on the X2 or even a 2 series x drive.

I'm also still considering a Golf R or even Audi's S3. At the end of the day, I need/want a small(er) AWD DD, under $50k. Decisions, decisions...

Cheers/B

Agreed. I would also love the option of a X1 M35i alas BMW wants you to go X2 M35i or next stop X3 M40i.

I read that the Mini Countryman and Clubman get the engine for 2020 and the X1 will get it with the LCI.
