Best Leather Cleaner for Brown Dakota Leather?

Hi all,

I am torn between 2 different types of leather cleaners:

1) BMW LEATHERCARE W/UV PROTECTION KIT
2) Meguiar's G10916 Gold Class Rich Leather Cleaner & Conditioner

Any ideas?

I'm a fan of the Meguiar's leather conditioner if you think it needs some conditioning

I’ve had 7 BMW’s with Dakota leather and never found that it needed conditioning. It’s a pretty robust leather imho. I use use an interior cleaner to wash it down. Now if I had a nappa leather interior, I would be conditioning that...

Lexol cleaner and conditioner.....hands down the best, been using it for 10 years, I've had 4 cars with coral red leather and it never pulled color once. I like it better than the bmw stuff and it's cheap.

I've used Lexol in the past and I prefer Adam's. The smell is better and it's less greasy IMO. However, Lexol is a good low-cost alternative.

I'll check out the Adams stuff too! I'm partial to the lexol because I use it on my boots and leather shoes! It's awesome for that as well!! Lol

For both Dakota and Napa I like Zaino. There are two products: Z-9 to clean and Z-10 to condition.

I'm always surprised at how dirty the cloth is when I use the cleaner, especially for the blue that comes off jeans onto the seats.

Doesn't need it often, but once every three months or so and you'll be happy you did it. Also has kind of a new car smell which is awesome when you get into the third year of a lease

in the past I have used BMW and Megs[after I was unable to obtain more of the original leather company's product] for leather. But last year we had a leather Chesterfield suite repaired and renovated. The upholsterer explained the difficulty he had getting rid of the products I had been using---- and just use a warm damp cloth, if it get very bad add a very small amount of cleaner.
It looks fantastic again now.

For the exact same interior finish i use that bmw olive scent spray. Perforated part of surfaces make lotions tricky to use, at least for me.

It does seem though very durable compared to nappa leather.

I'm a believer in Lexol leather cleaner and conditioner. Been using both since 2001 on my first e30 and haven't looked back.
