btw if you don't mind saying, how much discount are they willing to give now? Over four months it's been out now. |

Which is what mine will come with. Guess I'll be changing to non-RFTs sooner rather than later

Glad to know people are happier with the non run-flat tyres. Guess I made a good decision by choosing regular ones. (Unless we have the bad luck of having a flat in the middle of nowhere).
Theoretically they’re more comfortable to ride, less noisy and more fuel efficient. Hope to experience it in the next week. |

I did have a slow puncture last week but I had a full size spare at home so fitted that until I got the tyre patched. With a RFT I wouldn't even be able to patch it. |

Depends on the brand, Bridgestones are repairable, I had them on previous BMWs and got them patched. My current Dunlops are not repairable though...

Just had mine delivered (with 18inch RFT) - have covered about 300 miles in a mixture of town and motorway. I have to say, that having come from a Mini with RFTs the noise in the X1 is a LOT less and the ride much smoother - I quite enjoy the feedback the car gives from the road. Having had the same car but with non-RFTs for a 4 day test drive a few months ago, the ride IMHO is a little firmer with the RFTs but not significantly.

Good to hear. What make of tyre do you have? Picking up our 2.0i M Sport on Wednesday. 18in runflats plus EDC. Test car had standard suspension and non RFT 18s. Seemed very comfortable compared to F10 MSport on 19in RFTs!

Mine came fitted with Pirelli P7 RFTs. I downsized from the standard 19" offered on the 25i here in Australia to 18" wheels. So far, these tyres seem very quiet and I'm pleasantly surprised by the ride quality.

I ordered the non-RFT tire option with the spare tire. My salesperson wasn't aware it was an option. The finance manager had no idea either.

You'll get a smoother ride and save money if you do get a puncture (And can keep going if, for example, you rip a sidewall). |

I'm just bumping the up, so those whose cars arrived recently can respond. There's a lot of interest in tyres...and tires

Australian delivery Msport (with DDC) 19" RFT Dunlop Sport Maxx RT2 (apparently with "Rim Protector" which is a good thing if you could have seen my wife's last set of alloys!!). After 1000km very pleased with the ride quality and quietness.

I have 17" summer and winter non run flat tyres and I never even thought to put bigger wheels on X1 because then you loose comfort. Comfort on these is great, when I want sporty ride I press sport mode. I have Electromagnetic dumpers which is by my opinion much better investment than bigger wheels/tyres

Mine is an Australian delivered 25i M Sport built on 28/1/16.
Tyres are 19" Bridgestone Potenza S001 RFTs. I have had Bridgestone tyres on 2 previous cars too - 18" Potenza RE050 RFT, replaced with 18" Potenza RE003 non-RFT (MB A-Class), and 17" Potenza RE002 non-RFT (VW Golf). Can't directly compare ride and handling as they are vastly different cars, but I am satisfied with the ride quality and tyre noise of my X1. |
