Thought these cars looked a little awkward in pics, but in the moving shots, they look much better.

Agree. I've seen a few in person (regular models not Blackwings) and they look nice and have some subtle aggression. Not beautiful, but also not hideous. I am probably in the minority though and love the tall lighting strips that Cadillac uses for the headlights and DLR's.

I can't wait to see a CT5-V BW in person. The red especially looks great online.

What do you guys think of the pricing on these things? I did a quick build out for each and I'm seeing low 70s on the 4 and low to mid 90s on the 5. They both feel too expensive to me but when I look at a M3 or C63 with comparable options they are 10k more than the 4. So maybe they're not?

seems to be 10-20% lower than other super sedans in it's class. That's kind of what I expected.

$10k in optional carbon fiber can push pricing over $100k on the big boy which is the one we all want.

anyone know the weight of these cars? anyone planning to track theirs?

CT4-V Blackwing should be under 3900, CT5-V Blackwing will be a little above 4000.

CT4 sounds like trash. CT5 has potential with aftermarket exhaust.

I think they both sound good. CT4 sounds like S58 but better IMO

Think you'll be waiting a long time (probably until ICE cars are banned) for most V cars to depreciate much. First-gen CTS-V and ATS-V is debatable, but otherwise GM performance cars hold their values really well. Anyone been following values for Pontiac G8 (especially the GXP), Chevy SS, second-gen CTS-V (especially manual wagon), 5th gen Camaro Z/28, etc?

You could buy the last ATS-V for $15k off near the end. This isn't likely to change. Sedans have horrible resale and barely sell these days. These will be no different.

CTS-V manual wagons hold their value because there's nothing else like it. The sedans have awful resale in comparison, especially if they have an auto. There's some hope that the manual BW's will be okay because they're likely the last of a breed, but they're also still sedans.

I wouldn’t go by numbers today, all used car prices are elevated. When I was looking at CTS-V and VSport, you could definitely find them way less expensive than new. The biggest problem was finding one that wasn’t beat down so quickly. It seems like people buy them and don’t take care of them or I was just unlucky in finding any unicorns.

I'm impressed with the amount of turbo noise on the CT4. Tone doesn't sound half bad either.

Not as impressed with CT5. I prefer hearing the actual pitch of the exhaust note more than the choppiness of the V8 pulses. I have the same issue with the C8 Vette exhaust. For a N/A V8 it should sound better. C7 sounds great so not sure why the C8 is so meh.

I guess it's best to wait until a clip of them under WOT appears before judging.

Just finished reading the R&T review. It's pretty compelling...makes me want to go test drive the Caddy right now.

"Out on track, the CT4-V Blackwing doesn't have quite the same pointy front end as the new M3, but it's better in every other regard. You'd have to get a stopwatch out to see which is quickest, but the Cadillac is far more fun and communicative than the BMW. And, as previously stated, the manual in the Caddy is much sweeter than the M3's."

From what I've read/watched it seems like they fine tuned a lot of aspects of the previous ATS-V, while keeping all the perks such as the communicative steering, composed suspension, engaging manual, etc.

Next Tuesday is the CT5-V Blackwing Press Embargo which journalists also got to take on VIR.

Does the 4 still sound like a Dyson? The ATS V was terrible to listen to. Combined with a Cavalier interior, I just couldn't do it. At least they seem to have fixed the interior of this one.

Who would buy a Cadillac that wasn't a V8? Better question than that, who in their right mind would buy a Cadillac in 2021?

Who wouldn't ? The quality and durability are no worse than BMW, but if something does go wrong you're paying less for parts and labour. And from what I gather GM is more lenient when it comes to tracking your car. Maybe your average GM dealership has less free donuts and less overpriced merch, but I will gladly trade it for Cadillac's superior Tremek manual transmission.

Wow, that R&T article absolutely pissed on the G8x. I say ban all R&T personnel from the G8x forum and their family members too.
